Our Curriculum
Watch You Learn provides a quality education and care program for children based on best practice. We promote each child's social, emotional, physical, language and intellectual development. We encourage exploration, experimentation and investigation and facilitate this through individual, small or large group experiences.
Watch Us Be Healthy & Well
Watch You Learn is a Child Safe Organisation. We are committed in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care.
The Service provides excellent facilities and is purpose-built. It is equipped with secure entry systems, CCTV and supervised play areas to ensure a protected space for all children.
All staff members are carefully recruited and trained in ensuring we have the best people working with us.
Watch You Learn views children as capable and, wherever possible, encourages them to make their own decisions about the important aspects of their day. Educators support their growing independence and, above all, their ability to recognise unsafe situations and to act in the best way possible to keep themselves safe.
Educating children about water safety, road safety, sun protection, animal safety, stranger danger, and protective behaviours are integral to the program. Our program empowers children to build their confidence and understanding of their rights.
In addition, we believe that nutritious food and drinks are vital to children’s physical development, mental health and wellbeing. We have our own cook on site to prepare the children’s meal freshly day. All meals are consistent with the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
Watch Us Develop Learning Foundations
Our Ready Set School Preschool Program is designed to support children with their development of oral language, listening comprehension skills, and phonological and phonemic awareness – all of which are building blocks for children’s future academic success in school.
Early literacy concepts are developed through carefully selected books which educators read to children individually or in small and whole groups. Through interactive storytelling, songs, and hands-on activities, children build essential early literacy skills in a fun and engaging way.
A highlight of the Ready Set School Preschool Program is our regular library visits where children explore a wide range of books, develop familiarity with print, and enjoy special story-time sessions. These visits not only strengthen vocabulary and comprehension but also encourage a sense of independence and curiosity. By immersing children in rich language experiences, our program lays a strong foundation for future reading and learning success.
Another feature of our Ready Set School Preschool Program is our numeracy program. It is thoughtfully designed to make early maths fun, meaningful and part of everyday life.

Early numeracy concepts are introduced informally as children play and as part of carefully selected table- top activities and games. Children explore key numeracy concepts such as counting, patterns, shapes, measurement and problem-solving. Whether they are building with blocks, sorting objects, or measuring ingredients while doing dramatic play, children are actively developing mathematical thinking in ways that are engaging and age-appropriate.
This approach not only builds children’s confidence with numbers but also foster critical thinking skills that support school readiness and a positive attitude towards learning.
Watch Us Be Social
Social skills is an essential skill for children getting ready to school. At Watch You Learn, we believe positive relationships are essential for all areas of children’s development. Further, we believe social skills are acquired and that refining them is a lifelong process.
Our unique program intentionally teaches children social skills through play, shared experiences and guided interactions. Group learning helps children build important skills like turn-taking, listening and expressing their ideas. Whether they are working together on a project, singing songs, or exploring a new concept during group time, children learn from one another and begin to understand different perspectives and differences. This collaborative environment supports the development of empathy, problem-solving, and confidence.
When appropriate, educators encourage children to develop self-help skills: look after their own belongings; put on shoes and socks; and, serve themselves at meal times – and help others to do so. We use genuine opportunities involving authentic life skills to facilitate children learning from and helping each other.
Watch Us Be Creative
Our Ready Set School Preschool Program supports children to be creative. Creativity lays a strong foundation for children’s success in school and beyond.

Creative experiences like drawing, storytelling, building, music and imaginative play draws upon children’s personality dispositions and their cognitive abilities. Dispositions which support creativity include curiosity, confidence, imagination, enthusiasm, openness to challenge, persistence, and the ability to accept ambiguity. Cognitive abilities include questioning, problem-solving, and divergent thinking.
Our role is to nurture this creativity through creative environments, creative programmes, and creative teachers to develop these personality traits and cognitive abilities essential to creativity.
The program includes activities such as painting, pottery, music, singing, dance, science, early literacy and numeracy, dramatic and imaginative play and sustainability. Sharing ideas and discussions are encouraged at all times.
Educators are creative and use a wide range of teaching strategies. They ask children open-ended questions, and model problem-solving and divergent thinking.
Watch You Learn supports children to become individuals who: can understand the dimensions and sensitivities of problems when they occur; solve problems effectively; and, generate new ideas and worthwhile products. Further, it equips them to realise their goals and dreams, support others to do the same, and contribute to a better society.
Watch Us Explore Technology
Watch You Learn believes that intentional and appropriate use of technology enhances children’s development and learning. We view technology as adding quality to our lives. When nature and the use of technology are balanced, societies are brought together and certain tasks completed more efficiently.
At Watch You Learn, children have the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and concepts through the use of digital devices. Screen time is limited and carefully monitored, and always focused on educational content that enhances our curriculum. Children may engage with interactive stories through group time or through learning a language through the ELLA program.
Educators intentionally teach children: to balance the use of technology; to stay safe; and, use accepted courtesies. Children will also learn how to use technology to share information about common interests.
Watch Us Be Inclusive & Respectful
Our Ready Set School Preschool Program places strong emphasis on building warm, trusting relationships between children and educators, creating a secure foundation for learning and their school readiness.
Rated by ACECQA, we are proud to have achieved the rating of ‘Exceeding’ in Quality Area 5 relationships with children and Quality Area 6 collaborative partnerships with families of the NQS. We consistently implemented warm and responsive interactions with each child. Children demonstrate a sense of belonging and a sense of security in their environments, confidently exploring and seeking support when required.
In addition, we believe families are a child’s first and most important teachers. That’s why we work in close partnership with you, valuing your insights and ideas every step of the way. We acknowledge the diversity of the community and are inclusive of all children, families and educators. Together, we create a warm, supportive environment where your child feels safe, loved, and inspired to explore the world around them.
Watch Us Be Sustainable
Our Ready Set School Preschool Program engages children in practical activities that help them understand their own independence, connect them with nature, and develop respect for the environment and its creatures.

Educators and children take part in outdoor activities such as vegetable gardening, composting and worm farming. They initiate discussions with children about the importance of reusing, recycling, and repurposing. They remind children to turn off taps and lights when not needed as part of sustainability.
Discussions about sustainability will include how the Centre’s physical environment has been designed with sustainability in mind – use of glass and natural light throughout the Centre, cross-ventilation for fresh air, green cleaning products, and choosing furniture, toys and resources that are resilient and can be readily repaired, are all topics which will be discussed.
Parents involvement and contributions will be proactively sought for watch us be Sustainable.
